The winery is located in the municipality Ingelheim (area Bingen ) in the German growing area Rheinhessen, It was founded in 1881 by the Moselle was founded and pioneered by Josef Neus senior, who subsequently created a special clone (Neus clone) of the Spätburgunders selected. In the late 19th century, the largest vaulted cellar in Rheinhessen was built under the property. From this time come the oldest fuder barrels from the years 1893 and 1897, which have been in continuous use ever since. The company was founded in 2013 by the entrepreneurial family Schmitz Mainz accepted. The manager is Lewis Schmitt and cellar master Julien Meissner.

The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers horn and pares (Ingelheim). You are with the red varieties Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) with 70% of the stock, St. Laurent and Frühburgunder, as well as with the white wine varieties Riesling. Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) and Chardonnay planted. The assortment is in the three-stage VDP classification model with large location, local wine and estate wine articulated.
