The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The estate in the municipality of Erbach is located in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, It has been family-owned since 1799. After the early death of his father, Ludwig Jung joined the company in 1969 and took over the winery from his mother in 1974 after completing his winemaker examination, which he was responsible until 2007. After years of practice in the winery Bercher (Baden) and Kaapzicht (Stellenbosch, South Africa) and graduation in viticulture as Dipl. Ing. In Geisenheim Alexander Johannes Jung is the manager responsible for the vinification. He is supported by his father in the care of the vineyards. In recent years, the winery has been expanded significantly by purchasing land. This also includes a rock cellar over 250 years old with a total length of 110 meters, which is eight meters underground and offers ideal conditions for expansion and storage

The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Hohenrain. Marcobrunn. Michel Mark. Siegelsberg and Steinmorgen (Erbach), as well Sandgrub (Kiedrich). They are planted with the varieties Riesling (82%), Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. It will be a natural management of the vineyards with permanent greening, without herbicides and minimized crop protection. After gentle pressing and cooled, aroma-preserving fermentation, the Riesling wines are stored in a stainless steel tank for a long time to get more fruit, fullness and extract. After a long ripening process, the predominantly dry and semi-dry Rieslings are bottled in summer. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay mature in traditional large wooden barrels or in barriques until just before the new harvest. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German quality wine estates).
