The estate is located in the municipality Ürzig (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, The Christoffel family has been growing wine for more than 400 years. The manor house is a beautifully renovated half-timbered house from the 17th century. Under the grandfather of the present owner Hans Leo Christoffel the estate acquired a widespread reputation as one of the best producers of classic Mosel Rieslings. Since 2001, the vineyards are to Robert Eymael from the winery Mönchhof Robert Eymael
leased. The expansion of the wines takes place in a closed part of the estate. Hans Leo Christoffel continues to work with his council. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers podium
(Earth) and Würzgarten
(Ürzig). They are planted exclusively with root-free Riesling vines, some of which are over 100 years old. The winery is a member of VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
