Weingut Johann Donabaum

The winery is located in the municipality in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Wachau, The property in Spitzer Graben dates back to the 16th century. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Biern, Offenberg, Point and Setzberg (all Spitz), as well as exclusively Grüner Veltliner in Loiben. 100% of the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Neuburger are cultivated. Furthermore, grapes are also purchased. The management is based on the principle: "The quality of the wine is produced in the vineyard". The wines are cultivated varietal and terroirspezifisch, with as little intervention as possible in the cellar. The use of our own yeast strains is intended to increase the complexity and shelf life of the wines. It is a stated goal, which in the opinion of Johann Donabaum tremendous potential of the variety to exploit through appropriate cultivation and selection. The winery is a member of , The white wines are vinified in the three Vinea qualities Steinfeder, Federspiel and Emerald. Every year around 65,000 bottles of wine are produced.
