Editor note: Light nutty, spicy oak on the nose, hint of tobacco, partly preserved miyed berries and some cherries, green vegetal traces. Straightforward, partly preserved ripe fruit on the palate, nutty, lightly toasted spicy, smoky oak, some cocoa and earthy traces, medium body, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, sweetish, jammy traces on a good to very good finish.
Best to drink: To 2020+

The Austrian wine-growing region is one of the eight in the state Lower Austria and covers 2,196 hectares of vineyards. It was created in 1985 by merging the formerly independent wine-growing areas Gumpoldskirchen and Bad Vöslau, The thermal baths, which were already known in antiquity, gave the area its name, but in the vernacular it is called "Südbahn", after the railway line built here in the middle of the 19th century.
