The family business is located in the municipality of Illingen-Schützingen (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German growing region Wuerttemberg, It was founded in 1987 by Johannes and Ilse Häge. A gift tavern is connected. Although it is a jointly managed family business, two different wineries are operated. Certain practices such as organic fertilization are used in both. Nevertheless, there is a clear separation of the two cultivation methods. Conventional and ecological wines are also vinified strictly separately in the cellar.

Johannes Häge is responsible for the original winery. The vineyards cover a total of 3.3 hectares of vineyards, of which 1.9 hectares are steeply terraced plots in the individual layers of Closterweinberg (Maulbronn), Halde (Mühlhausen / Enz) and Schanzreiter (Illingen). They are planted with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Trollinger, Black Riesling, Dornfelder, Regent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Mitos and Merlot, as well as with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Kerner. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, sparkling wines and brandies (pomace, wine, fruit) are also produced. In weather-appropriate years, too Eiswein vinified.

Since 1984 it has been part of the vineyards according to the guidelines for Organic viticulture cultivated, run since 2005 by the organic winegrower Ilse Häge as her own winery and market the wines with her own label. The vineyard area totals 2.15 hectares in the individual layers Halde (Mühlhausen) and Heiligenberg (Schützingen). The red varieties Lemberger, Pinot Noir, Velvet Red, Trollinger and Regent, as well as the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Rivaner are cultivated.

The entire cellar is located in the historic Schützinger Kelter from 1658. White wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks in a controlled cool and slow fermentation and are stored on the until shortly before bottling in March , Red wines are fermented only on the mash in butts or a tank with a paddle to immerse the mash. All red wines except Trollinger and Schwarzriesling are stored in used barriques for at least half a year, during which time they are on their lie. There is also the expansion of selected varieties and qualities in new barriques.
