The estate is located in the municipality Biebelsheim (area Bingen ) in the German growing area Rheinhessen, It was created in 1995 through the merger of three family wineries. The name goes back to the three founders of the three companies: Johann Fischborn (Schufried), John (Hans) Haas and Jens (North German for Johannes) Heinemeyer. Johanninger is a registered trademark. The owners are the families Haas, Heinemeyer and Schufried, who also run the various areas of the winery.
The vineyards cover 23 hectares of vineyards in three growing areas. In the growing area Rheingau is in the individual layers Bodental-Steinberg (Lorch) and Höllenberg ( Assmannshausen ) exclusively Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) on red phyllite schist.
