2009 Spätburgunder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Relatively vegetal and also slightly smoky aroma of preserved red and some black berries with tones of mandarin and a hint of soup herbs. Slightly marmalade-like fruit in the mouth, toasty hints, some old woody notes and herbal tones, slightly herbal, fine tannin, a little carbonic acid, some persistence and substance, also slightly marmalade-like in the finish and again reminiscent of tangerines.
