The estate is located in Girlan, a part of the municipality of Appiano in the Italian wine-growing area South-Tirol
(Region Trentino-Alto Adige
). The family business was founded in 1852. , The cellar masters are Josef Niedermayr and Stefan Rohregger. In 2002, except for the historic wing, the entire winery was demolished, rebuilt according to the most modern requirements, and most of the technology was renewed. In the large column cellar, a wine-growing museum with many exhibits has been set up. The own vineyards cover 25 hectares, another 10 are leased. In addition, grapes are purchased from contract growers with clear cultivation criteria. The red varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Blauburgunder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are processed to 60%, as well as the white varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc to 40%.

produced and expanded to 95% dry. There are three quality lines. The baseline includes around 15 wines, which are traditionally aged in steel kegs and partly in large wooden barrels. The wines of the "CRU" line, which ripen in steel kegs or in used oak barrels, come from selected locations of their own vineyards. The top wines of the line "RISERVA" mature for two years in used and new oak barrels. Special editions like "Sauvignon ALLURE" are only available in particularly good years. For decades, exports have been made to many countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
