Editor note: Light dried vegetal notes and some tobacco on the nose, some old oak and undergrowth, predominantly red berries, hint of cassis, dried vegetal and light spicy aromas. Ripe, tart fruit on the palate, some oak and tarry notes, earthy notes, fine sandy tannins, light bite, fairly persistent, dried vegetal aromas, light salty traces, hint of mushrooms, good to very good finish.
Best to drink: To 2021+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three areas Maindreieck, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
