Editor note: Noticeable spicy oak on the nose, cocoa, ripe, partly preserved red and a few black berries, nutty and earthy notes. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved, slightly warm fruit on the palate, nutty, spicy and some dried floral notes, touch of juniper, hint of bacon, good substance, persistent, full-bodied, veryslightly rustic style, hint of tobacco, coffee and cocoa, peppery notes on a very good finish.

Editor note: Light green vegetal notes on the nose, hint of capers, red and black berries, some undergrowth, earthy and mineral notes. Tart, fairly firm red and some black fruit on the palate, nutty oak, fairly prominent fine tannins, vegetal and herbaceous traces, good substance and persistence, cedary traces, hint of tobacco, earthy and salty mineral notes, still quite young, very good firm, tart, juicxy finish with fairly prominent mineral notes. Improves significantly with aeration.
Best to drink: To 2026+

The German growing area Franconia was earlier in the three areas Maindreieck, Main square and Steigerwald structured with 23 major layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011, a new regulation was adopted by the members of the Franconian Winegrowing Association. The three old areas are replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 major locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for some time.
