Editor note: Nutty notes on the nose, light dried floral, herbaceous and earthy notes, red berries and a touch of cassis, hint of flintstone. Slightly muted fruit on the palate, dried vegetal, nutty and earthy notes, fine sandy tannins, light acid bite, cool mineral notes in the background, hint of citrus fruit and some fresh mushrooms, good finish.
Best to drink: To 2022+

The German growing area Franconia was earlier in the three areas Maindreieck, Main square and Steigerwald structured with 23 major layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011, a new regulation was adopted by the members of the Franconian Winegrowing Association. The three old areas are replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 major locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for some time. Prior to this change, the Mainviereck area had the following description:
