2012 trocken Cuvée Morandus, Burgenland, Austria

Firm aroma of predominantly dark berries with cherry notes, nutty wood tones, some toastiness and herbal aromas. Firmly woven black fruit with distinct smoky and toasty wood, some bread crust, herbs and a hint of pepper, relatively present, fine sandy tannin, some bite, good substance and persistence, plenty of power, noticeable but integrated alcohol, some green pepper, hints of salt in the background, still seems relatively young, very good, strong alcohol, again quite firm finish with black fruit and a little bitterish, sooty wood.
