2013 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Bodigraben Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Clear, fairly polished nose, cherries and predominantly dark berries, moderate oak, herbaceous notes, light peppery notes, hint of bacon. Ripe, juicy, dark fruit on the palate, smoky, spicy oak, some cocoa, ashes and tobacco, delicate bite, youthful, fine sandy tannins, still slightly astringent, persistent, full-bodied, has substance, toasted notes, some peppery spice, light earthy notes, some bite, toasted notes, some herbs and dark juicy fruit on a very good finish. Needs time to mature.
