2016 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Bodigraben Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, slightly meaty nose, herbaceous notes and dried flowers, ripe, predominantly dark berries and cherries, spicy notes, touch of smoked bacon, light sooty oak, mineral notes. Tart, firm, dark fruit on the palate, light acid bite, smoky oak, herbs, hint of bacon, firm, youthful tannins, ethereal notes, noticeable warm alcohol, good persistence, earthy traces in the background, some coffee grounds, dark chocolate, tobacco and cedary notes on a very good, tart, alcoholic finish.
