2004 Kamptal Ried Tanzer Zweigelt trocken Reserve, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Berry nose with coconut and roasted nuts, smoky notes and smoked meat, light mienral notes. Fairly lively, but also soft, quite persistent berry fruit on the palate, some underlying green oak and light herbaceous traces, slightly prominent, integrated, slightly astringent tannins, mienral notes, fairly full-bodied, still needs time, good structure, prominent oaky notes on a good finish. Shows some character, although the superfluous oak limits this a little.
