However, the name "Strauss" only appears in the family chronicle in 1948, when Karl and Johanna Strauss took over the business, which their son Karl continued. From the two sons Karl jun. (Company logistics, wine fairs) and Gustav (vineyards and winery), the company is run today. The white varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürztraminer and Seedling 88, as well as the red varieties Blauer Wildbacher, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt are cultivated. The wines are marketed in several lines. The "Classic" line comprises light, fruity wines with sparkling acidity, which are aged in steel tanks. The "Gamlitzberg" line includes wines with high fruit and ripening potential. The "Steinbach" line comprises wines made from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from the eponymous location in large oak barrels. The long-lasting wines of the "Reservé" line are made from the very best grapes and matured for up to 18 months in French oak barrels. In weather-appropriate years also Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are pressed.
