The estate is located in the commune of Grünstadt-Sausenheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, The family has been cultivating wine for centuries. It was created in 1993 by the division of the family business. The business is run by Rosmarie and Karl-Heinz Gaul and their two daughters. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Schloss and St. Stephan (Asselheim), Schlossberg (Neuleiningen), and honey sack, Hütt
and monastery garden (Sausenheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling (50%), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Huxelrebe, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer and Auxerrois, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Portuguese, St. Laurent, Dornfelder, Black Riesling and Cabernet Cubin. Consistently natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is practiced. The quality criteria in the vineyard are reduced volume yields and selective harvesting. In the basement the motto is "As little as possible and as much as necessary". The top wines are expanded according to location. The red wines are aged in traditional oak barrels and in barriques.
