The estate is located in the community Grünstadt-Sausenheim (area Mittelhaardt-German Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, Viticulture has been practiced in the family for centuries. It originated in 1993 by division of the parental business. The operation is managed by Rosmarie and Karl-Heinz Gaul and the two daughters. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Castle and St. Stephen (Asselheim), Schlossberg (Neuleiningen), and honey bag, Hütt
and monastery garden (Sausenheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling (50%), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Huxelrebe, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer and Auxerrois, as well as the red varieties Pinot Noir, Portuguese, St. Laurent, Dornfelder, Black Riesling and Cabernet Cubin. It is practiced consistently close to nature, environmentally friendly viticulture. The quality criteria in the vineyard are reduced yield and selective harvesting. In the basement the motto is "as little as possible and as much as necessary". The top wines are developed location-specific. The red wines are aged in traditional oak barrels and barriques.
