2012 Dürkheim Feuerberg trocken Cuvée Philipp, Pfalz, Germany

Prominent spicy cocoa, oak and resin on the nose, preserved, predominantly dark berries, earthy and leathery traces, toasted notes, hint of citrus. Full-bodied on the palate, more preserved fruit and lots of oak, fairly youthful fine, sandy tannins, good persistence, spicy aromas, and a light herbaceous touch,, hint of citrus in the background, noticeable warm alcohol, leathery and dried floral traces, hint of licorice, smoky oak, slightly jammy again on a good to very good finish.
