2016 Neusiedlersee DAC Ried Waldacker Zweigelt Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

A trace of tobacco and dried floral scent of cherries and mixed berries with herbaceous, moderately woody and earthy notes and a hint of pepper. Ripe, pickled, rather tart fruit with slightly smoky wood tones, planty to herbal aromas and again some pepper, fine sandy, still slightly drying tannin, some alcohol warmth, sooty traces, a little dark chocolate and coffee, good persistence, some depth, slightly compote dark fruit and smoky notes and hinted salt in the finish.
