The estate is located in the municipality of Strümpfelbach (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region Wuerttemberg, After many years of membership in the winegrowers' cooperative, the wines themselves have been pressed and marketed since 1995. The "Sonna-Besa" broom shop is connected. The company is run by the Knauß family, and Andreas Knauß is responsible as cellar master. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Altenberg and Nonnenberg (Strümpfelbach), Steinacker (Lehrensteinsfeld), as well as in the three communities Beutelsbach, Endersbach and Schnait. Two thirds of them are planted with the red varieties Trollinger, Lemberger, Pinot Noir and Merlot, and one third with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The management takes place with natural, environmentally friendly care measures.

Yield-reducing quality criteria are a high planting density with 6,000 vines / ha and thus forced deep root formation, short pruning, intense foliage care and thin out, Through repeated, selective hand-picking, only absolutely healthy and mature grapes are processed. The fermentation takes place depending on the vintage and type with individual standing times spontaneous with the vineyard's own yeast. The wines are marketed in the basic, estate, selection and reserve wine lines. The white wines are fermented cold and bridled and reductively aged in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels. Without exception, the red wines are fermented on the mash, undergo biological acid degradation and, depending on the quality, mature in stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels (300 and 500 l) or in barriques. Bottle-fermented sect are also produced. In weather-appropriate years there will also be a Eiswein vinified.
