2006 Ried Steinzeiler trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, deep nose, still slightly closed, black berries and preserved sour cherries, dark spicy oak, herbaceous notes and mineral traces in the background. Full-bodied, firm and cool on the palate, again still quite closed, clear, cool fruit, light acid bite, dark roasted oak, fairly prominent and very fine tannins, mineral notes in the background, full body, very firm, still a little austere and brittle, but already indicates depth, very good finish.
