2000 Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder trocken, Ahr, Germany

Garnet, lighter on the rim. Red berries and plums on the nose, mineral notes, spicy oak and light smoky notes. Full-bodied, juicy fruit with ripe tannins, very creamy, well integrated oak, mineral notes in the background, firm structure, very persistent on the palate, fruity and spicy notes on a long finish. Could still improve with some maturation.
