2001 Frühburgunder Classic, Ahr, Germany

Firm, cool nose with cherries and black berries, mineral notes. Full-bodied, juicy fruit, concentrated and powerful, very fine, still very slightly dusty tannins, delicate smoky note on the palate, mineral notes, good long finish. Needs time to mature, and may still improve.
