2001 Spätburgunder trocken Devonschiefer Goldkapsel, Ahr, Germany

Very firm nose, wild ebrries, mineral notes and spicy oak. Firm and concentrated on the palate, lots of smoke and roasted oak, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, very well structured, persistent, good depth, fairly prominent mineral notes, slightly rustic style, crisp and still undeveloped, good long finish.

Best to drink: 2005-2009. What our ratings mean
