2004 Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken unplugged, Ahr, Germany

Preserved and partly dried red berries on the nose, herbaceous and mineral notes, some old oak and a whiff of mushrooms. Jammy fruit and some roasted notes on the palate, fairly creamy, old oak and some mineral notes, good persistence, malted notes, sweetish and creamy, harmonious tannins, spicy with dried fruit on a good finish.

Light roasted notes on the palate, moderate cranberry and strawberry fruit, some mineral notes, well structured, mediujm substance, polished but also starting to dry out, spicy, attractive to good finish.
