2004 Spätburgunder trocken Devonschiefer, Ahr, Germany

Preserved red berries and some plums on the nose, elegant spice and mineral notes, wilted leaves and some old oak. Light-bodied fruit, oak, medium-fine, slightly astringent tannins, wilted leaves on the palate too, slightly noticeable alcohol, overall slightly brittle, lacks concentration and substance, astringent finish.

Editor note: Delicately spicy nose, preserved ripoe red berries and plums, mineral notes, leaves and wilted flowers. Light malted notes on the palate, quite tart and slightly rustic in style, smoky notes, mineral notes on the palate, fairly creamy, attractive finish.
