2004 Spätburgunder trocken Devonschiefer Goldkapsel, Ahr, Germany

Prominent roasted notes and spicy oak on the nose, partly roasted leeks and onions, dried and preserved red berries, tart floral notes. Smoky on the palate with animal notes, more dried onions and rosted leeks, fine sandy and slightly astringent tannins, noticeable alcohol, creamy, restrained frtuit, astringent on the finish with roasted notes.

Best to drink: 2006-2010.
Editor note: Complex nose with mineral and light roasted notes, red berries, vegetal notes, herbaceous traces, light roasted notes and some undergrowth. Still fairly closed on the palate, polished fruit, cranberries and some dried tomatoes, spicy mienral notes, good substance and quite complex, slightly bitter tannins, long finish. Improves with aeration.
