2008 Neuenahr Sonnenberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Fairly cool, herbaceous nose, red berries and some cassis, dried floral notes and tobacco, earthy and mineral notes, delicately sweet spicy oak. Firm on the palate, creamy and polished, very clear red and some black fruit, tart tobacco notes, earthy notes and salty mineral notes, very fine, fairly prominent tannins, smoky notes and some smoked meat, light acid bite, lively, has some depth, very good finish.

Best to drink: 2011-2016+. What our ratings mean
