2014 Frühburgunder trocken Reserve, Ahr, Germany

Fairly tart spicy nose, prominent bacon, red and black berries, dried herbs and flowers, touch of juniper and lovage, some old oak, with aeration increasingly shows root vegetables. Fairly tart, rather restrained ripe red and black fruit on the palate, nutty, smoky oak, some coffee, earthy and mineral notes, salty traces, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, good persistence, smoked bacon and dried herbs, light bite and grip, some depth, very good finish.
