Stefan Rumpf took over the winery in 1984 from his parents. Until then, the wines were sometimes marketed to very prestigious other wineries, but still almost exclusively in barrel. Stefan Rumpf switched to bottled wine sales and self-marketing. The initial Gutsausschank is operated since 1994 by his wife Cornelia as a country inn. It is practiced near-natural viticulture.
