Wine Review Report :

Wein-Plus rating: Excellent (90 WP)
Last reviewed: 10 September 2019
Editor note: Cool nose, vegetal and herbaceous notes, tart citrus notes and a hint of peaches, light green pepper, prominent mineral notes. Firmly structured, cool, juicy fruit on the palate, lively, elegant acidity, more fairly prominent mineral notes, vegetal and herbaceous aromas, ripe tannins provide grip, good persistence, fairly full-bodied, but is also elegant and vibrant, good depth, still young, mineral notes, still has yeasty traces on a very good, firm, juicy, gripping finish. Classy wine.
Best to drink: Mid-2020-2028+

The growing area is in the country Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany and is named after the river of the same name. There are many surviving testimonies from the Romans who already grew wine here. The vineyards cover 4,237 hectares of vineyards along the river from Hunsrück to the mouth of the Rhine near Bingen. Near Bingen founded the Benedictine abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) the Rupertsberg monastery. The floors consist of quartzite and slate on the lower Nahe, porphyry, melaphyr and colored sandstone on the middle Nahe, as well as weathered floors, sandstone, loess and clay near Bad Kreuznach.
