2005 Hochheim Domdechaney Riesling trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Fairly mature nose with prominent vegetal notes, some dried herbs, partly dried yellow fruit, mineral notes, delicate earthy notes, some cardamom and a hint of wax. Sweetish, ripe, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, vegetal and waxy notes, good persistence, noticeable tannins, but quite well integrated, more cardamom spice, grippy, has some depth and good substance, very good finish. Slightly rustic style, and unnecessarily sweet, but has developed better than expected.
