The estate is located in the municipality of Lengenfeld in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Kamptal, The family has been wine-growing for over 150 years. The trained cellar master Kurt Angerer initially planned to settle in Australia. After all, he stayed true to his homeland and began making wines according to his ideas from 1996 onwards. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vineyards. They are planted 60% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, and 40% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauburgunder, St. Laurent, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot. Kurt Angerer is an absolute specialist for the Grüner Veltliner, which has been developed in several styles. The grapes are harvested very late and, after fermentation in the steel tank, some of the wines are left on the yeast until spring. The top wines are named after the prevailing soil type or their origin as Ametzberg, oak tree, gravel, loam (loess), granite and spies. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies are also produced. Around 150,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
