The winery is located in the old center of the municipality Piesport (Bernkastel area) directly on the Mosel in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The winemaking tradition of the family dates back to the 17th century. In 1988 the company was taken over by Gernot Hain. Connected is the hotel "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen". The vineyards cover nearly six hectares of vineyards in the layers canon. Goldtröpfchen and Falkenberg. They are 85% Riesling, the rest with Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus planted. In the vineyard is consistently following the rules of integrated viticulture with, for example, permanent greening and if possible waiver herbicides worked. The expansion of the wines takes place in more than 200 years old from the slate rock defeated vaulted cellar. Most mature in stainless steel, some in wood-burning and the Pinot Noir in barrique. While the sweet-sweet wines ferment spontaneously, pure-bred yeasts are used for the dry wines.
