The estate is located in the old town center of the municipality of Piesport (Bernkastel area) directly on the Moselle in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The family's winegrowing tradition dates back to the 17th century. In 1988 Gernot Hain took over the business. The "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen" hotel is connected. The vineyards cover almost six hectares of vineyards in the locations canon. Goldtröpfchen and Falkenberg. They are planted with 85% Riesling, the rest with Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus. In the vineyard, consistent with the rules of integrated viticulture with, for example, permanent greenery and, if possible, no herbicides worked. The wines are aged in the vaulted cellar, which is over 200 years old. For the most part, they mature in stainless steel, in part in wood and the Pinot Noir in barriques. While the fruit-sweet wines ferment spontaneously, pure breeding yeasts are used for the dry wines.
