1999 Esslingen Schenkenberg Portugieser trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Slightly dull purple to ruby red, lighter at the rim. Attractive bouquet of cherries and blackberries. Spicy, quite juicy fruit, a touch of carbon dioxide, finely-grained tannin, clearly defined, medium body, very good balance, fruit and spice on the finish.
