2005 trocken Pannobile, Burgenland, Austria

Tart vegetal nose, nutty ,spicy oak, preserved black berries and some plums, bell peppers, tart herbaceous notes, mineral and earthy notes in the background. Tart on the palate with noticeable sooty oak, behind that some tart juicy fruit, earthy as well as green vegetal notes, persistent, fairly concentrated, fine, sandy, slightly astringent oak tannins, mineral traces in the background. more sooty oak and brittle notes on an otherwise very good finish. Has shown a positive development, but could be even better without the brittle, bitter, sooty oak.

Editor note: Black berries on the nose, light herbs and spices, light earthy and animal notes, wilted flowers and some dark roasted notes. Cool and elegantly juicy on the palate, dark fruit, sooty oak, quite fine but astringent tannins, not particularly deep, slightly astringent and sooty again on the finish.
