2006 Ried Schafleiten Pinot Noir trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Dried flowers and herbs on the nose, red and black berries, hint of bacon, earthy and mineral notes. Fairly firm, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, light oak, smoked bacon, fine sandy tannins, hint of tobacco, herbs and spices, good substance and persistence, salty traces, some grip and depth, very good tart, juicy, smoky finish. In surprisingly good condition.

Editor note: Red and some black berries on the nose, delicate floral traces, smoky bacon and spicy oak. Fairly light-bodied fruit on the palate, elegant and juicy, prominent spicy oak, more smoky and roasted notes, relatively fine, slightly astringent tannins, fairly persistent, not particularly deep, mineral traces, good finish.
