The estate is located in the municipality of Kaltern in Überetsch (province of Bolzano) in the Italian wine-growing region South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). The historic buildings of the winery date back to the year 1608. The builder was Hieronymus Manincor, to whom Emperor Matthias (1557-1619) had bestowed the land on Lake Caldaro for his services to Austria and at the same time elevated him to the peerage. The family crest "Man-in-cor" means freely translated "hand on heart". In 1978, the estate passed into the possession of Count Enzenberg and has been owned by Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg since 1991. At that time, the farm was a sought-after grape producer without its own vinification, which delivered the crops to the cooperatives in Caldaro and Terlano. After an increase in quality due to limited yields and introduction of near-natural cultivation, production started in 1996 in our own cellar facilities. In 2004, a newly built cellar was opened, which is considered an international example of contemporary cellar architecture. Responsible director and oenologist is Helmuth Zozin. The total estate comprises 300 hectares of fruit, wine, forest and meadows.

The vineyards cover 50 hectares of vineyards with mostly cru layers in Terlan and Caldaro. They are 60% with the red varieties Blauburgunder, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Syrah, Lagrein and Vernatsch, and planted to 40% with the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Gold Muskateller. In the basement, the processing is carried out according to the so-called gravity flow principle, that is pumpless operation with the use of gravity over three floors and thus low load of grapes, must and wine in the winemaking, The fermentation, the development and the processing of the wines are carried out with a minimum of intervention. The majority of wines, with white wine around 2/3, with red wine to 100%, is spontaneous fermented, triggered by the natural yeasts from the vineyard. Pure culture yeasts are added only in exceptional cases.

The wines are produced in the three lines hand (base), heart (from "large layers") and crown (extreme selection from the best vineyards only in special vintages). With a strict location philosophy, each vineyard is expanded separately. The best are bottled as "heart wines" (single layers). The expansion of the wines is 100% in wooden barrels. A good part of it is made of wood of the own oak forest. Among the premium wines are the 9 months matured in large wooden barrels white wine Tannenberg (Sauvignon Blanc), the 18 months in Barrique developed red wine Cuvée Cassiano (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, others) and the 12 months in Barrique developed red Mason di Mason (Pinot Noir) , Every year around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced.
