The estate is located in the village Weinolsheim (area Nierstein) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen
, The traditional family has been growing wine since 1725. The company is now run by Erich and Eric Manz in the eighth generation. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Herrenberg
(Nierstein), Kehr (Weinolsheim), Cross (Dienheim), Kranzberg (Dalheim), Castle (Uelversheim) and Steig-Terrasse (Guntersblum). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Gewürztraminer, Huxelrebe, Kerner and Ortega, and with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Blue Portugal and Dornfelder. The grapes are processed very gently after selective harvesting.
The quality pyramid includes the three lines Gutsweine (unmixed basic quality), terroir wines
(Loess, Tonmergel or limestone) and as top the layer wines "Collection Manz". The cool fermented white wines are in the steel tank, the red wines after four to eight weeks maceration
matured in traditional wooden barrels or barriques. In weather-appropriate years are also Trockenbeerenauslese
vinified. Bottle-fermented sects are also created. Every year around 150,000 bottles of wine are produced. The winery is a member of the association Pro Riesling.
In 2003, the winery was Protestant Church of Hesse and Nassau
leased. These wines are marketed with their own label.
