The estate is located in the village Oberarnsdorf 58 in the Lower Austrian wine region Wachau, The family has been involved in viticulture for 300 years. Documented is the existence of Simon Hicker (* 1699) and Antonius Hicker (* 1782) as Hofmeister at St. Peterhof in Krems, as well as Josef Hick (1872-1938) as Hofmeister at St. Peterhof in Oberarnsdorf occupied. The company is run today by Maria Hick (cellarmaster) and Manfred Eder-Hick (Rupertiwinzer). An efficient and economical use of energy is part of the operating philosophy. Around 75% of the buildings are equipped with LED lighting and a photovoltaic system.

The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Buchenthal, Johannserberg, cellar vineyards, Kirnberg, Mitterbirg, Steiger and Stiegelstal (with Subriede Glauberkreuz). They are with the white wine varieties Green Valtellina (around 60%), Rivaner ( Müller-Thurgau ) Riesling. Chardonnay and Muscatel, as well as the red wine variety Zweigelt (10%) planted. The management takes place after ecological and sustainable Criteria. These include green manure, economical use of spraying, waiver herbicides, Waiver insecticides through use of pheromones as well as slope maintenance for the promotion of biodiversity, Quality-oriented measures are careful foliage care and thin out in summer.

Through selective hand-picking in several rounds from October to November, only ripe and healthy grapes are processed.
