The estate is located in the municipality of Traben-Trarbach (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It was founded in 1991 by Martin Müllen. The vineyards cover almost five hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Rosenberg (Kinheim), Kirchlay, Letterlay, Paradies and Steffensberg (Kröv), Königsberg and Würzgarten (Traben), as well as in the Hühnerberg with areas reactivated by the winery (Trarbach). 80% of them are planted with Riesling, the rest with Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. Some of them are very old, ungrafted Vines. The quality criteria in the vineyard are restrictive fertilization, special care for the old vines, low yields and selective hand picking.
Vinification makes you feel particularly committed to tradition. The goal is wines that are typical of the area and have a long shelf life. The Press will age with basket presses carried out. The fermentation takes place spontaneous with yeasts from the vineyard. In appropriate years too Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein vinified. It is also getting hand-shaken produced. The winery is a member of the “Klitzekleinenring”, a group of winegrowers who are committed to saving extreme steep slopes.
