2005 Neusiedlersee trocken Leithaberg, Burgenland, Austria

Tranquil nose, restrained apple and melon fruit, some exotic touches, prominent old oak. More prominent old oak on the palate, creamy, mature fruit, lacks life, elegant acidity, vegetal and mineral traces, slightly bitter notes, fairly persistent, more bitter oak on the finish. Is not developing as well as had been hoped.

Editor note: Very muted nose with yellow apples, hint of old oak. Noticeable, slightly resinous wood on the palate, medium, slightly sweet, creamy, yellow fruit, integrated polished acidity, oak not yet fully integrated, and still a little angular, the wine has substance as well as some depth, still very youthful, attractive to good finish.
