The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The winery in the municipality of Mülheim in the German wine-growing region Moselle goes back to a trading company founded in 1680 and has since been owned by the family. A document from the year 1643 proves a vineyard purchase in the Brauneberg, The baroque manor house with French gardens was built in 1774. The cellar, separated from the manor, was built in 1880. In 1813, the ancestor Franz Ludwig Niessen (father-in-law Ferdinand Richter) rescued the community of Mülheim and the county of Veldenz from the arson Napoleon (1769-1821) and his troops. There was an encounter on the monastery hill (Helenenkloster vineyard), where Niessen handed the emperor the required ransom in the amount of 3,000 thalers. The winery is now owned by Dr. Ing. Dirk Richter and son Constantin Richter ( oenologist ).

The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Juffer and Juffer sundial (Brown Berg), provost and Heaven (Graach), Helen Monastery in monopoly and Sonnenlay (Mülheim) sundial (Wehlen), as well as Elisenberg (Veldenz). They are predominantly Riesling (19 ha), the rest planted with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
