2001 Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder Auslese trocken Versteigerungswein 2002, Ahr, Germany

Enticing, dense and highly concentrated bouquet of plums, red and black dried fruit, bread crusts and spices. Extremely juicy fruit with lively acidity, lots of slightly dusty oak tannins, well-integrated wood, a tremendously full body, dense, deep and very persistent on the palate, with mineral notes, as well as slightly overripe and rustic notes, components not yet quite in balance, with a long and rather alcoholic finish.
