2001 Spätburgunder trocken S, Ahr, Germany

Col aromas of black berries, cumin and minerals. Firmly structured, quite juicy fruit, clearly present and quite finely-grained tannin, slight spicy oak notes on the palate, quite a tart style, slightly dried out, very good structure, persistent, huge alcohol punch, good length. Can probably improve a little with a bit more maturity.
