2014 Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Fairly cool, delicately tart nose, touch of smoked bacon, red and a few black berries, dried vegetal notes, delicate hint of tobacco, earthy notes. Firm, tart, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, smoked bacon, polished, surprisingly cool, elegant fruit, fine youthful tannins, refreshing acid bite, persistent, moderate spicy oak, herbaceous traces in the background, stony, rather salty mineral notes, graphite, pepper, hint of violets, hint of dark chocolate on a very good, firm, elegant, juicy finish.
