2015 Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Deep nose, still slightly closed, earthy and vegetal notes,some tobacco, red and black berries, delicate herbs and spices, fairly prominent mineral notes. Clear, ripe, elegant, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, nutty oak, hint of dark chocolate, some cloves and cardamom, light cedary traces, salty mineral notes, persistent, quite firm, fine sandy, youthful tannins, has bite and grip, touch of root vegetables, fairly prominent anise, more salty mineral notes on a very good finish with herbs and spices.
