The estate is located in the community Landau-Godramstein (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, At the end of the 19th century, Jakob Kessler acquired one of the vineyards on Münzberg, which gave its name. His grandson Lothar Kessler moved in 1974 the family estate with residential building and factory buildings on the Münzberg amidst the vineyards. His sons Rainer and Gunter Kessler are still leading the family tradition as winemakers. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in a single location Münzberg, They are planted with the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Muller-Thurgau and Gewürztraminer, and with the red varieties Pinot Noir and Dornfelder.

The typical white wines ferment and mature primarily in steel tanks. The Chardonnays and red wines are aged in oak barrels. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, brandies (fruit, pomace, yeast) and liqueurs are also produced. The winery is a member of VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) and the association "Fünf Winzer und Fünf Freunde von der Südpfalz".
