2006 Carnuntum Blaufränkisch trocken Selection, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Tranquil and fairly shy nose, ripe cherries and red berries. Cool red berry fruit on the palate, mineral and light herbaceous notes, some cherries and sloe berries, fairly complex and persistent, integrated, fine-grained tannins, good struture and has some potential, without being clumsy or overbearing, long finish.

Editor note: Cherries on the nose, light earthy notes and some almonds, oaky notes. Firm on the palate, clear, ripe cherry fruit, also some preserved red berries, plums, vegetal notes, hint of chocolate in the background, leaves quite a dry impression, moderate integrated tannins, light mineral traces, slightly cool, needs some time to develop, good finish.
